Silver Price Surcharge

Dear Valued Customers,

As you may already be aware from extensive media coverage, the price of silver has shown very dynamic development in recent months and has now reached an unusually high level. Whereas not too long ago it was regularly below USD 30 per ounce, it has now risen to nearly USD 80 per ounce and, according to long-term indicators, continues to be classified as volatile.

For this reason, glass manufacturers have decided to pass on the increased costs of silver procurement—which is required, among other things, for the production of mirrors—to glass processors in the form of a surcharge, effective February 9, 2026.

The surcharge is linked to the silver market price. The reference index can be found at:

https://www.lbma.org.uk/prices-and-data/precious-metal-prices#/

Three working days before the end of each month, the average silver price for that month is determined by calculating the arithmetic mean of the daily closing prices for the respective month. If this average price is below USD 40 per ounce, no surcharge will apply. If it exceeds this level, glass manufacturers will impose an additional charge depending on the price level.

We are unable to absorb the expected additional costs within our current calculations and therefore must pass this surcharge on to our customers. In order to ensure maximum transparency for you, we have decided to apply the same mechanism used by the glass manufacturers.

Accordingly, we will apply the surcharge based on the following table:
