The history of NOWAK GLAS

The history of the successful company NOWAK GLAS GmbH & Co. KG goes back meanwhile more than 50 years to 1964, when Josef Nowak founded his first glaziery business in Wattenscheid. The company soon made a name for itself over and beyond the town's boundaries, thanks to the top quality of its work paired with absolute reliability and exemplary customer service. The versatility offered by NOWAK GLAS made it stand out right from the start - together with the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder and his three sons. Today the headquarters of NOWAK GLAS on Bochum Wattenscheid already cover around 110,000 sm of premises - ideal prerequisites to continue writing its success story on into the future!

  • 1964 NOWAK GLAS founded by Josef Nowak
  • 1967 Relocation to premises in Bochumer Straße, Wattenscheid
  • 1970 Production of insulation glass began
  • 1974 Construction of the first building at today's site in Mausegatt, Wattenscheid
  • 1975 Company taken over by the three sons Dieter, Franz and Joachim Nowak
  • 1978 Production hived off from glaziery
  • 1980 Start of production at Marl site
  • 1983 Start of production at Wesel site
  • 1997 Stakeholding in Euroglas GmbH, Haldensleben
  • 1999 Expansion to include production of safety glass in Wattenscheid
  • 2005 Construction and commissioning of new facilities for safety glass production in Wesel
  • 2006 Stakeholding in Euroglas GmbH, Osterweddingen
  • 2024 Founding of Joachim Nowak Glashandel GmbH in Gladbeck
